On January 12, the club held its Annual Meeting at the Innis Arden Clubhouse. This year’s event was a luncheon, catered by the Furi Restaurant in Edmonds, whose Chef Yang prepared a delicious Chinese buffet for the 75 members and guests who attended. Board member Jeanna Holtz had done a wonderful job in arranging for the luncheon, which was delivered steaming hot to our venue.

To start the meeting, David Rockwell led the room through the election of Board members who will serve for the next two years. Bill Laprade, Doug Lockhart, Michelle Martin, and Ro Verdeja were reelected to the Board. Ron Stires was not elected as the four incumbents each received the votes to continue in their positions. Thanks to Ron for joining the election process.

Bill Laprade and Doug Lockhart reviewed the events of the past year and looked forward to the coming year’s tournaments and competitions. (All are now posted on the club website calendar). Treasurer Ro Verdeja reviewed the detailed financial report, which was available in print on each table, and Michelle Martin spoke about membership and the growth of the club over the last year. Before breaking for lunch, Jack McHenry recognized the contributions that many, many members have made this past year to allow the club to thrive. Jack also acknowledged our loss of Ed Cornachio and Jacques Maussenet, who passed this year. Both were wonderful club members and friends.

The luncheon closed with a series of answers from the floor to Board members, who supplied information and answers to members’ questions. After lunch, a dedicated group moved outside to conclude the chilly winter afternoon with a series of games on the adjacent Innis Arden petanque courts. Thanks to everyone for taking part!
