As announced at the Annual Food Bank Tournament, on Saturday, OCTOBER 21, the Edmonds Petanque Club will host the first CROSS-SOUND CUP. This is an exciting new event for the club and should be a lot of fun. Even if you do not wish to take part as a competitor, put the date on your calendar now. It will be a full day of excellent competition, and you will want to support your team!
The Cross-Sound Cup is a team competition between the EPC and the Port Townsend Petanque Alliance. Each team will consist of 12 team members. On the day of the competition all players will be involved in singles, doubles, and triples matches, as well as a shooting and pointing competition.
The EPC team will be made up of tournament winners from the past year (League, League Tournament, Bastille Day, and Food Bank) as well as team members appointed by the Board and team members drawn randomly from a pool of interested players. The doubles and triples teams will be determined by the Sports Director and the Board before the tournament. Port Townsend will follow an equivalent process to make up their team.
IF YOU WISH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE CROSS-SOUND CUP, please send an email to Bill Laprade, the EPC Sports Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Before taking this step, take time to confirm that you are available on Saturday, October 21. The competition will take place rain or shine in Edmonds and will last all day. THANK YOU!
