For eleven years, the members of the Edmonds Petanque Club have staged a fun, all-day petanque tournament to support the Edmonds Food Bank.100% of all sponsorships and all income from tournament fees, after costs have been covered, go directly to the Edmonds Food Bank, which provides critical food assistance to people in need within the greater Edmonds area. Each week, the Edmonds Food Bank supports 350 families in need, amounting to 47,000 meals distributed every month.
The original idea for this project was conceived by club member and prominent Edmonds citizen Dick VanHollebeke, who is featured in the accompanying photograph. The work of the annual tournament now continues in Dick’s memory.
What: 11th Annual Food Bank Tournament in Memory of Dick VanHollebeke
When: Saturday, August 27
Where: Sierra Park in Edmonds. 19020 80th Ave. W; Edmonds, WA 98026
Time: Check-In at 8:30. Games begin at 9:00
Structure: This year’s Food Bank Tournament will be a “panache,” a series of matches in which players are paired with a new partner in each match. At the end of the day, the player whose combined score is highest is the winner.
Cost: $35 per player
Participants: 48 is the limit for this year’s tournament. Register Now!

Lunch: Registration covers donuts and coffee, a sack lunch, and water
Prizes: Medals and prizes awarded to top three finishers
Bonus Shooting Contest: Will be held at the conclusion of the main tournament
Support for the Edmonds Food Bank: After tournament expenses have been paid, all proceeds go directly to the Edmonds Food Bank
Donations: Please bring non-perishable donations that will be collected at Sierra Park by the Food Bank or consider making a cash donation at the tournament.
