Every year, Edmonds Petanque players welcome boulistes from around the PNW to our Bastille Day and Food Bank tournaments. People come from all over to play at these favorite events, but one player whom we have come to know well and admire for her tenacity, accurate play, and top place finishes is Bekah Howe of Port Townsend.
Over the years, Bekah has become part of the “Edmonds Petanque Family,” as we yearly look forward to greeting Bekah and her husband Silas Holm, Tom and Honey Niemann, and other Port Townsend veterans to our contests on this side of the water.
This summer Bekah will take the main stage at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, AL, as she represents the United States with her doubles partner Janice Bisonette of Fresno, CA, against the strongest women’s teams in the world.
Bekah and Janice earned their positions as the top US women by finishing first and second at the World Games Trials last September. In Birmingham, they will compete in a doubles competition as well as a precision shooting contest in the course of the games. We send them all our best wishes for success.
